Transitionf wipes

I have a bunch of short five - ten second clips and wanted to do different wipes/fades etc... between them but it seems that I'm doing something wrong. I'm only getting a few of them to grab and work while others don't even show up. I'm using Vegas Pro 9

Hmm, maybe you're trying to do it like in some programs where you just set the two clips right against eachother and then apply the fade at the frame where they meet? In vegas you have to drag the clips over eachother first to create a crossfade, and then put the transition on top of that to convert it to a different type of transition.

I have trouble with vegas doing transitions if the clips are shorter then the transition period. You can't do a 10 second fade if your either clip is less then 10 seconds.

Thanks - I have been dropping the fades between two clips but not knowing that I have to bring the two clips over each other to make them work. It works now.
