Transition time to read a document

I'm working on something no that is presenting some new problems.

It involves a number of legal documents that are important to the story. I'm not quite sure how to deal with them. I need enough time for the viewer to read them but I don't want the thing to drag down to the point of being boring.

My first thought is to switch to a female narrator to read them while fading Broll in and out with the text.

Any direction would be appreciated...
 
The old rule-of-thumb is to leave something on-screen long enough for YOU to read it three-times. ....way too long for anything more than a title or lower-third.

I'd try to find a way to summarize or emphasize the important words in the document. Something like a VO "I didn't notice the double-negative in the legal text."
