Transition Strategies

Hello everyone. I find myself doing a lot of montage editing with the constant need to keep the edit punchy and alive. One thing that I have been working on is my transitions from shot to shot. Some of my go to transitions from one shot to another are:

Shot A, 1 frame of shot A w/ inverted colors, 1 frame of white, Shot B
Shot A, 3 frames of shot A w/ a few stops over exposed, 1 frame of white, Shot B
Shot A, 3 frames of a quick pan (to get a good, streaking effect on screen), Shot B
Shot A, 2 frames of shot A with 150% magnification, 6 frame fade from white into Shot B

These work to keep a punchy, fast pace in a montage of quick shots. What are some go-to transitions like these that you know of and use?

Effects > Video Transitions > 3D simulations > Cross Zoom

This is always a good one to exploit and helps increase the energy level.

Hope that helps.
