Transition Question

I am doing a lot of quick edits and I would like a bright flash between edits, anyone know how to acheive this? It seems like this would be a standard transition.

You can do a dip to color transition. Or you can lay a color matte under the clips in question and fade or cut them in or out at the point where you want the flash.

maybe i can field this one, i got the plugins, hopefully they offer a discount before you purchase if you decide you want to get them, but here is why one is better than the other.

Right click and download the video i just made. Excuse the crab footage! LOL. Stupid crabs. Just random footage i grabbed from capture scratch

Anyways heres the link:

the first video has the Nattress Film Flash plugin being used, see picture here to see settings, 6 frames etc...

the second part of the video shows just a simple 6 frame dip to color with the threshold put at the beginning of the transition, see this pic.

Thats the difference, it comes with TONS of other plugins so MORE than worth the full price paid. But if the offer discount its a no brainer for you for SURE!!!! Hope that helped.

Quick Question Shane: Why is one better than the other in your opinion?

THe DIP TO COLOR just makes the whole image go white...while the Film Flash starts brightening the light areas, and spreads the overexposure throughout the frame with them as a center. MUCH more realistic.

YOu can download a demo from Nattress to see if you like it.

You can also use a 4 to 6 frame additive dissolve. It depends on the clips but for the most part you can get a nice flash frame type transition out of it
