transferring Edius files to Ipod

Is there a way to transfer films we create to an IPOD. If so what is the correct file format to save as. Thanks

If you export a DV AVI (and check the box at the bottom that says "Use MSDV codec") then you can use whatever conversion tool you want. The file will be the same as if it was captured from a DV camcorder.

If you have Apple QuickTime 7 Pro installed, I would output H.264, that's the preferred video format on video-capable iPods.

Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 768 Kbps, 320 by 240 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

Thanks. I downloaded quicktime 7 pro. Saved the .avi file as suggested by bhiga. Converted in quicktime. Then converted again in I Tunes. Played fine. Thanks for the tips.
