Transferred DVCpro HD 24p footage with Remove Pulldown box checked...any way to fix?

I transferred DVCProHD 720 24p footage using FCP 6 from an HPX-170 and accidentally had the Remove Pulldown box checked in the preferences of the log and transfer window. I was an idiot and deleted the p2 card before realizing that the transfer did not work properly.

The footage in the viewer as well as in a DVCproHD 24p timeline plays slow and audio cuts out half way through. I've tried using Cinema Tools but it says that it is not an NTSC type file. Is there a way for me to fix this without re-transferring from the P2 card (since I deleted it)?

Nope. And you broke Rule #1 of shooting tapeless...BACKUP THE CARD! That is the first and most important thing you can do. Don't do that and you open yourself to all sorts of issues...and this is one of them. ALWAYS back up the card.

You cannot fix this as the original media is gone. The audio is gone, and the video is gone. You might be able to speed up the video, but the audio cutting out...it is gone. Sorry, you have to re-shoot. And BACKUP!

THis is the proper workflow for ALL tapeless shooting: <http://library.creativecow.net/ross_shane/tapeless-workflow_fcp-7/1

Just checking. This only applies to 24p and 30p DVCProHD footage correct? 24PN and 30PN does not have pulldown so the remove pulldown check mark will not effect the transfer, right?

That setting doesn't effect footage shot PN. But I deselect it just in case. It is annoying that it defaults to ON, as the ONLY format that will have the pulldown removed properly is 1080p 24pA. Other formats will have issues. But this is why you always keep the masters. Erasing the card is like throwing the tape away after you capture it if you shot on tape. No one does that.

Thanks for the reply and the link to the workflow. I will definitely never not back up the card again!

Luckily audio was run to another camera and I can speed up footage to match.
