transfering vx2000 footage with sony handy cam hc15e

here is what I have.
2.16intel duo macbook 10.5.8 FCP 6
I'm borrowing a friends vx2000 with a broken mini dv jack. So I'm trying to log and capture with my old dcr-hc15E sony handycam.

I can control the playback but preview is disabled.
(I've made sure view "all frames" is enabled, and trashed my preferences, and recording to internal hard drive)

When I try to capture the footage I get an error message saying that their is no footage. though I can see the footage on the hc15e

If I record footage on the same tape with the hce handycam, the log and capture works.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I've been shooting in 16:9 and my device settings are firewire ntsc basic
capture: DV ntsc 48k anamorphic. booth shot in sp


I'm planing on doing a wedding next week and need to get this straightened out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello again, I'm still looking for a solution.
Sorry I should have put log instead of capture. So Oddly enough I tried another newer mini dv camera and for one of the tapes I shot with the vx2000 it said wrong tape format. Another tape logged fine. Any ideas? Is that tape for ever gone?
