Transfer AVCHD files from one SD card to another

Hi Everyone,

I noticed that I have a bunch of SD cards from a digital camera that are ~ 30-40%f filled and want to consolidate.

The photos on the card transfers from one card to another -- seemingly fine. The problem I'm hoping to figure out is how to transfer the videos files? (AVCHD)? I could copy the video related files, but only if I overwrite the existing folders.

Is that even possible to copy AVCHD files from SD card to computer to another SD card?

There is no problem transferring any files from one SD card to another.
When all files have different names, there is no problem at all.
When some files have duplicate names, the solution is to create separate folders on the new SD card.

Tried a few things and there seems to be an issue with what you name the file - if you're using FCP X, like I am.

The editing system will only read the file *from the card* that is called "PRIVATE". It won't look at anything else *from the SD card*

Other AVCHD files on other hard drives can be read/imported, however.

So, while you can *store* the video files on the SD card, it seems that only the "PRIVATE" file can be imported. Correct me if I'm wrong.
