I want to get the Registered Trademark logo in my credits for a company allowing me to use their product... is there a easy way I can just do this in the text edit screen... or do I have to import and image and get move it to the position?

Alt+0153.

Not every font supports it, but you can usually just use Arial for it and it'll look fine with any font.

I have similar problems with the copyright symbol. I can never remember the Alt stuff, so usually just create any text symbols in Word then copy and paste them into Vegas's title tools

I just use the Character Map application. From the Windows desktop use Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Character Map. (or place a shortcut on your desktop if you use it a lot) This is the easiest way to find and copy those special characters in any font.
