tracks and dollies cheap

We just finished ours. Make sure and use angle iron that runs the entire length of the dolly board, this will help with strength and sitffness. We actually got by with 8 total wheels, and it seems to work just fine. I have seen people use pipe flanges as tripod foot receptacles too. You can also build a nice push handle out of conduit tubing too. We got some Oak dowell that was approximately the size of the inside of the PVC to use as track couplers, and with it we can have up to a 30 foot dolly run, and longer just by adding more pipe which only costs 5 dollars per 20 feet.

You can always rent a Fischer (9, 10, and 11 models I believe) and track for around $110 a day, give or take how much track you rent (note : if you're gonna be shooting on terrain make sure to bring wedges!)
