Any Torontonians thinking of checking it out? There's a few films that are already being raved about, but I have to say George Romero's "Diary of the Dead" and Dario Argento's "Mother of Tears" are getting me a little excited. Coincidentily, "Diary" is apparently set parallel to "Night of the Living Dead" and Argento's finishing off his 3 Mothers trilogy (which started with "Susperia")....so I'm nervous about things coming around full circle, cause that usually where these things end...
Anyways, Cronenberg's latest "Eastern Promises" looks like another hit (lets hope the hype is deserved, which definately wasn't the case with "A History of Violence").
"Across the Universe" to be honest just looks like a lot of distraction and I wasn't any more impressed when the trailer told me that it was the "most original" movie I'd see this year.
I'm pretty sure "Lust, Caution" is going to be on a few lists too, what with all the international controversy...
Well thats just the tip of the iceberg. I'd like to make it out but my co-worker's leaving to work the fest which means I've got to hold down the fort while he's gone. The upside: I get some complimentary passes by association
