top gear america, the biggest disappointment.....ever

I am so disappointed, the hosts really sink and the scripts are worse. If they could just do some improv, it would help but I still would not ever watch it again.

The real Top Gear is the best and I could not imagine that any of the Top Gear people in the UK would ever watch this POS series.

The guy that looks like Zack whats his name or Seth whats his name from the movies sux.

I don't even think Tanner Faust watches this show.

The Italian guy...well I do not know what he does on the show.

Cheers

Ed

I think that what makes the UK Top Gear so great is the on screen chemistry and boyish-almost-prank humor of Clarkson and Hammond. I'm a fan and I can hear the brits laughing. When will producers learn?

Anyway sorry but I just feel compelled to post these ... Clarkson and the atom, one of my favorites

and the one where they use the wind blast from a 747 to blow up a car

I just stomached the entire first episode, it was like watching a homeless person sleeping while urinating on himself.

They are trying to take cues from a show, just not the Top Gear show. If at least it were better hosts I might consider watching it. I would still watch reruns of the original before ever watching top gear amurrika ever again.

Oh how I love the clips you posted, there are so many and I think there are only a couple of episodes from Top Gear I may have been not liked EVER.

They should get personalities if they want to host a show as epic as Top Gear.

you can't compete with BBC money and equipment, in America. One of the stupidest idea's I've seen in awhile-remaking BBC's topgear in America. it was the same gags, with much cheaper equipment, and....well, it just planed sucked. I couldn't even finish watching the first episode-I was done at that point.
thankfully, I believe the show as been cancelled.

many countries have tried to remake that series, and all have failed miserably. you can't match the chemistry, the cinematography, the equipment.....you just can't. BBC's top gear is very inspirational, from a film makers point of view, because in my opinion, they set the bar very high. most of their shots are just jaw dropping. The humor is easily translated here in the States.

I can't wait for the new season of BBC's Top Gear to start.
I would love to see a "behind the scenes", or the "making of topgear" show.

So glad you liked those clips I posted !

So anyway here's another fave but i will preface it with a story. When I was a kid part of my schooling was in Bristol in the west of Ing-ga-lund. I must have been about 10 or 11 years old. And after school while walking home we would collect chestnuts from under the trees. At home you would boil the chestnuts to make them hard (conker) and thread them on a string. The game was to swing your conker and smash it into another boys conker and see who's would break first.

In this clip the lads from Top Gear play conkers using caravans painted brown and swinging from cranes

BBC Top Gear is one of my favorite TV programs. The great hosts and imaginative story telling aside, top gear's editing and cinematography have also been top notch. I can't think of any "reality" show that pays so much attention to getting the unique pacing & look of each segment.

 LOL. Part of the appeal of Top Gear is the attitudes of the the three presenters who are allowed to be and say some outrageous things. The show wouldnt be the same without the over the top attitude and their personalities.

Americans try to re-invent everything...

In some ways I do agree with the budget thing and that the american series may not have the support but we do have talent here as well including great camera operators and editors. Only problem is that they are not using them. I was working at SEMA last year where they had a booth for Top Gear, it was like a mad house until someone at the booth told everyone it was Top Gear America, from there it was a waste land and I don't even remember if more than three people actually stayed around. I did not even want to waste my P2 card on recording it (yes, it was that much of a waste if I did)

Only today did I watch the first episode and thus the posting. Even the audience doesn't seem to really want to be there to watch some guy from the Hangover movie speak with a guest.

Sorry but it was just sad, really sad, Top Gear America? Sad.

same thing happened in AUS - crap remake of a great show

remakes should be banned - what's wrong with the original - nothing!
