Eastwood - despite a misstep every so often.
The Coen Brothers - brilliantly exploring coincidence regardless of conventional wisdom on dramatic storytelling.
Miyazaki - will continue to capture hearts with a decidedly non-Western approach to structure and myth.
Jonze - no one lets us into a character's mind better...
Fincher - except for maybe this guy.
Aaronofsky - taking us down the spiral of a character's final days.
 
Cronenberg is still going on strong.
So is Gilliam. Tomas Alfredson has been one of my favorites for many years, it'll be really interesting to see what he does in English.
I'm a bit disappointed by what Hideo Nakata has done after Dark Water. Wish he would go back to that kind of film, but he's still one of my favorites.
Ji-Woon Kim is also one of those that always delivers.
Luc Besson too.
