i'm sure this has been done before, but if you feel like it list your top three favorite movies based on the overall look/mood of the movie...

What comes to my mind:

1. Belly
2. O 'Brother Where Art Thou?
3. Heat

Problem with questions like this for me is if you asked me 100 times I would give 100 different answers.

BUT for poops and giggles the 3 that popped in my head now...

Fifth Element
Sin City
Armageddon

Okay, I'll play.

1. The Wind and the Lion (Dir. John Milius)
2. Braveheart (Dir. Mel Gibson)
3. Blade Runner (Dir. Ridley Scott)

Citizen Kane - Greg Toland is still the king.
Wings of Desire - Henri Alekan is right up there
Raider of the Lost Ark - Slocumbe nails a blend of opticals and modern optics with a
pseudo-period film that takes us out of the awful 70's once and for all.

The Bicycle Thief is up there, but thats more a reflection of Italian neo-realism and De Seca's hand than the skill of the DP, IMHO.

daaaamn that is tough...but, i can do it because i think these hold the most sentimental value:

1. Top Gun
2. Aladdin
3. Adventures in Babysitting

But I think the movie I watch the most right now is Miller's Crossing. It's always playing.

I'm with Dakotapod... you'd always be getting different answers out of me...

tonight, for mood/looks its:

Se7en
Mothman Prophecies
American Beauty

HAHA! Wow...that is pretty wonderful to read Adventures in Babysitting right after a reply with Wings of Desire and Citizen Kane!!

Orson would've just, loved it.

haha, yeah. It's hard to truly pick a favorite movie -- but I have the fondest memories of these movies. And I can quote just about every line of them...I used to quote top gun in my car seat. My mom would freak out.

Man, I spent 2 years working with the directors and a ton of the Alladin crew. Those were some awesome times :)

I'll tell you this much, Ron and John, Layout and Scene Planning on the film, would
be seriously flattered to make this list.
