People will probably think I'm nuts, but "Galaxy Quest" would be in my top ten. Then again, I'm not a big sci fi fan, so I'm more inclined to dig a comedic space movie.
This is the Real Space Movie List
1)The Thing
2)Forbidden Planet
3)Planet Of The Apes (original)
4)Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy (original)
5)Earth Girls Are Easy
6)2001 A Space Odyssey
7)Strange Encounters Of The 3rd Kind
8)Aliens
9)Space Balls
10)Star Wars Trilogy (4, 5, 6)
Criticise this list all you want but this is the ultimate list of space films, they are chosen for story, filming, and acting. Thanks for your time all.
It is The Man Who Fell to Earth. Really trippy sci-fi movie about a guy who leaves his homeworld/goes back in time to save his homeworld/the future (depending on how you read the movie). He has a bunch of revolutionary inventions that he uses to get rich/push the world to create things that will help to save his family, who are all dying because there is little to no water left on their planet/in the future. David Bowie and Rip Torn both rule in it.
Edit <~ While I was posting this, the Queen/David Bowie song "Under Pressure" came on... creepy.
