Top 10 Films of 1980...

1980...

:crybaby: We lost "The Master" himself when Hitch departed us for that big MacGuffin in the sky :crybaby: - :crybaby: One of music's greatest geniuses, John Lennon was senselessly killed outside of his New York home :crybaby: - Who woulda thunk it...the U.S. Olympic Hockey team defeated the mighty Soviets in the semifinals, something that history would remember as the "Miracle on Ice"

Please try to do a top 10 in order (hard as it may be) with an optional two or three "honorable mentions".

* honorable mention... Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe - (from imdb.com) A film exactly described by its title. German film director Herzog had made a bet with fledgling director Errol Morris that, if Morris could finish his film, Herzog would eat his shoe. Morris went on to complete 'Gates of Heaven', so Herzog kept his promise. While eating the boiled shoe, Herzog carries on a dialogue with the film premier audience on film, art, and life.

John, John, John... look as hard as I might, I see neither Caddyshack nor Airplane! You don't like comedy?

I like it when I am watching it but Comedy is the least favorite of my genres. Usually, because it rarely comes across as real or plausible.

I love comedy like A Fish Called Wanda and Young Frankenstein (And incidentally History of the World and Blazing Saddles are favorites) and most recently loved Shaun of the Dead but yeah; not a favorite genre of mine

I agree that comedy is the only genre that has to, for all intensive purposes, be segregated into "best of" lists of its own...

but if it happens to be one (or in the case of this year, THREE) of the absolute best comedies of all bloody time...well, then I haveta include it (them).
