Hahaha...thanx. Can never be too prepared. Having the right tool can save the day just as not having it can totally bone you.

That is the most awesome list ever.

Two questions (since I have one of those Stanley carts).

How do you fit everything in there and how do you find anything?

Please take a photo and share.

Chris

Hey. It's a jam for sure but it does fit. As a compromise to get everything in there you have to rummage around a bit to get at something. Half way through the day it does get a bit cluttered. Certain things like the electrical, nuts and bolts, a few handtools are in their own smaller kits/containers which helps and i've slid a piece of foamcore in to act as a divider to keep all the canned stuff somewhat together. Also frequently used things I'll try to keep in the lid organizer to get at it quickly.

I'll try to get a photo up tomorrow.

Wow. What a list.

Some things I carry that (I don't think) I saw on there:

Several extension cords and ground adapters;
Those slide wire-ties: great for collecting tons of cords running across, e.g., a floor;
Gels and LOADS of diffusers;
Laser distance measure (not the sonar variety);
Tape measure;
Shop towels for cleaning dusty surfaces so tape will adhere;
Wet wipes;
Aluminum chimney flashing squares;
Staple gun with various length staples.

Here are the pics as I promised:

I also noticed a few things I didn't list before - I was going off my checklist last time which hasn't been updated and normally doesn't include items I normally keep on me personally in my toolbelt:

- 8" Crescent wrench
- Sharpies
- Ground tester
- Stubby ratcheting screwdriver
- 16ft Lufkin tape measure
- Elastic bands
- Medical booties (for walking on delicate surfaces like freshly painted cycs)
- Scrap piece net material
- Kim wipes
- Small makeup mirror
- Rubbing alcohol
- Toolbelt and various pouches

My list (although deffinetly not as big as bcheong's goes a little something like this....

**2'' black gaffers tape
**3/4'' Bright green gaff tape
1/2'' and 3/4'' Paper artists tape, white (camera tape)
c-47's
plastic squeeze clamps
occasionally some metal c-clamps
**Mechanics gloves (not hot light gloves, just basic ones)
**Leatherman tool (a MUST HAVE)
**550 cord
**canned air
one of those rosco filter sample pack things
**Light meter
measuring tape
**mini-slate, without clappers
**waterproof righting pad/mechanical pencil (rite in the rain brand pad)
small plastic clip board
**Gum
**water
**cotton towells
**clear plastic garbage bags
Big contractor grade black garbage bags
Velcro cable wraps
Zip ties
**Heavy duty extension cords (usually 2 50 footers)
**Power strips (2)
clamp light

That's the stuff I usually have on hand, but of course it changes and gets added to or subtracted from depending on what type of shoot I am doing....usually the starred stuff is with me no matter what...

Great stuff guys! I love reading lists like these. Always gives you ideas in addition to first hand experience to find out what's handy out in the field:

I thought I would list my camera ditty as well since the other list is more grip/electrical stuff. Everything fits into a Cinebags production bag. It doesn't come out nearly as much since I have an assistant with a similar kit. There's a lot of overlap with the other kit.

Ya windex is great stuff! I got to get a spritzer bottle and fill one up for my kit. Caribiner's are great too...i always have them hanging off me everywhere...

Barry,
Where do you get you quick ons at. The last show I was on the prop guy had these plugs that you just lay the wire in snap them closed and your ready to go. I have searched up and down and can't find them anywhere. They were given to him so he doesn't know a source for them. Is this the quick on you have?

Gopher

Hi Gopher - These are the same ones I have in my kit. As you mentioned they just open up and you snap them closed onto 18/2 Cable ("Zipcord"). They're great if you need to wire practicals, etc. You can get them at any hardware centre.

Gloves
Leatherman
Black wrap
GAffers Tape,
Spare Bulbs,
Bungees,
clothespins,
a bootle of single malt whisky and a credit card

Hasn't failed me yet :beer:
