Tool for converting to DNxHD?

Is there any free converter to convert MP4, MXF etc to DNxHD? I used AWPro. But that is no more.

Also is it possible to have custom resolutions? Some action cameras have non standard resolutions. Thanks.

Thanks. I have heard of it. But I thought it was some sort of engine or something. Difficult to use or like a command line. Something like that. Didn't even know it was an end user product.

I use a gui interface to ffmpeg which eliminates the command line interface. I don't recall the name of the one I use, but you can search for them. The one I use isn't very friendly, but it's better than the ffmpeg interface unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

Morgan is right, I used ffmpeg to convert to ProRes, Davinci can't do that. But Davinci Can output DNxHD.

Tried resolve already. The free version didn't want to do it. Anybody can recommend a ffmpeg GUI which is easy? Thanks.

Edit: I just looked at their website and it says this: Important : myFFmpeg does NOT include a compiled FFmpeg file! You have to compile or download this yourself.

It is a while. I think you have to download myffmpg and ffmpeg seperately.

myffmpeg is the shell and ffmpeg is the real thing.

I used it to convert XAVC to Prores

That's correct. You need both the GUI shell and ffmpeg. No big deal. Just download both and it works.

FFworks is ffmpeg app with a proper GUI, it’s not for free though and can be a bit confusing with all the spec menus.

That is just sheer nonsense, a lot of contemporary computer activity uses command line and batch file operations.

And, guess what, all what those GUI utilities do is to compose an FFmpeg command line and execute it.
It takes a very little study to learn how to use the FFmpeg command line and once you know you have much more flexibility in what you would like to do.

"Convert V3" can convert to DNxHD. It can also convert into ProRes and other common formats.
