I don't know how many of you here are Tool fans. I just heard the new single "Vicarious" and it's pretty damn cool. I've never been a huge Tool fan but I'm definitely buying this album (10,000 Days) the first day it comes out.

I guess this is supposed to be their last album, so I've heard.

Where did you hear this? A link maybe?

Tool is genius band! Those guys are absolutely incredible. I was looking at Adam Jones myspace page it's crazy with all kinds of cool art and some 3d camera system he was playing with.

Saw them on the Lateralus tour, one of the best shows I've ever seen and they barely moved the whole time. Maynard only faced the crowd twice.

A buddy of mine had it at a party I went to on Saturday. He said the record company set up an FTP server to get it out there to the radio stations but never secured the server. So I guess it's out there somewhere. I'm sure if you dig you can find it.

Somehow their last album slipped through the cracks for me, though I heard it was very, very good. "Aenema" was fantastic . . .

Looking forward to this latest one. I might be "Laterallus" and "10,000 Days" together. :)

Wicked, I've been waiting for this for quite some time. I thought they'd forgotten about this cd. Anyone know the scheduled release date? I'll check the website as I haven't been keeping up with it recently.

Not really a fan, but I have a cool Tool story. Back in, I think 1992, could be off by a year or so, I was in a band back in San Diego. We gained a decent size local following and opened up for Tool on one of their first tours, for their first album.

The show was relatively small but insane, at a huge wharehouse downtown called Soma. Anyway, backstage there's this little walkway and I was back there hanging out with the singer of tool, forget his name (maynard?). Anyway, the whole time we were chatting he was working out. It was pretty weird. He kept doing these hardcore military type workouts with only these tight biker shorts on and no shirt. I mean, he put in this whole workout before he went on stage, it was pretty bizzare. Some of the contortions he was doing were pretty wild. When he'd ask me a question or reply it took like two minutes per sentence because he was breathing so hard.

I kinda just slipped out of there and the whole weird scenario. Anyway, the cool thing is, they liked our band and requested us to open for them again on there next trip back to SD. We did, and it was pretty cool again, and yes, he worked out again in the back. That's my tool story. Moving on...

I heard it from my buddy, I don't know where he got the news, so who knows.

Ha! I don't doubt it for a second. :)

BTW, is Tailor done yet?? I haven't spoken to Ken for a little while now.

Ken's in editing hell right now. We're real close tho.
"hell" = bad

"real close" = good

:)

Ken made the switch from FCP to Avid. He came over a few times and I was helping him a bit on the Avid end of things (via my Avid setup). Also, I no longer have the anamorphic adapter to rent out to you guys. :( I switched over to the HVX and sold the glass.

i heard this song today on the radio and it's phenomenal. It's like schism but more metal. i suggest raping and pillaging or whatever illegal means you have to get an .mp3. And then buy the album on the 2nd.

I like my Craftsman socket wrenches and...

Oh, it's not that kind of tool thread. :undecided
