too late for an extended warranty?

I am planning on purchasing a DVX100a that has 7 months left on the manufacturer's warranty. Is there anyway I can still purchase an extended warranty?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think so... B&H's site says that only in 30 days of purchase U can buy the Mackie Extended Warranty...

Re: too late for an extended warranty?

Out of curiosity - with all the talk about "grey" market equipment - a 1year warranty from Panasonic is 1 year from Panasonic - period - regardless where it was purchased, as long as it was new and you are the first owner.

Is this not true?

Also, I am not aware that the warranty was transferable (usually the case in most electronics) - I could be wrong here, but I doubt it.

As for warranty on the mechanics of the camera, from what I have read here, the magic 1000 hours on the heads is the death bell - according to posts here - and one of the major causes of problems - so - assuming you don use the heads at all, the camera should last years and years. I base this on using external firewire drives to capture shots - 100% of the time.
