I entered the contest somebody posted here a while back. Ending up getting 10th place. Not bad, considering the amount of time we put into it (not much), the budget ($20).

I'm proud of that opening fridge shot.
Would have liked to get some more takes on the dialog, but it was getting late and my cast was a bunch of troublemakers. Was a good learning experience for me... my first attempt at putting all my gear to work.

Binaca did buy the video though, which is very cool

I agree. I mean I don't mind the cleavage, nor the tank top... but for the film and content it felt kind of pointless and stuck out for no reason.

Funny bit though. The music should have come to an abrupt stop at the joke though. Having it continue made it seem like the joke was still coming. And yeah, the line at the end should have been re-done.

Stopping the music at the joke would have been much better! Great tip--bummed I missed that.

My "ghost face" had a hard time between the gloves and the mask hitting her mouth on the spray. I salvaged it by switching the camera angle. I would have preferred to get a close up of the gloved hand spraying her mouth, but we were heading out of town and couldn't find the time to reshoot it. I also lost one of my takes do to a write error on the card. I went with the cleavage because the second part of the contest has to get hits/go viral. Doesn't look like that's going to happen (I've got 150 on youtube so far). Probably would have been funnier to use one of the takes where she gets it in the eye or gags... but that probably wouldn't have gone over too well with binaca.

Appreciate the feedback. I know I could have done a more professional job, but on a $20 budget the saying goes--if you pay peanuts--you get monkeys!

Maybe I can make a funny outtake clip, and have it link back to the original... might be a way to go viral and feed hits to the original clip. Although it seems like it takes a lot of luck to really go viral... maybe I should auto-tune it like they do the news!

Well it's a good short, but viral implies warranting people to re-post on facebook and in blogs, and on message boards, etc. That's how things go viral. Sorry to be blunt, I don't think yours will. It's not a new fresh clever idea that people will want to see over and over again. Boobs don't help either. There are lots of boobs on the net. To go viral you have to really be outside the box and mind blowing.

How many hits do they consider to go viral? It's a strange requirement for a contest as it's a difficult thing to do.
