Today's High School Production Anecdote

I do production for a Municipality including the LSD. I have high school "interns" that help me out and do some work for me...some of which I have to grade.

One student is ready to turn in his magazine story to me and asks me to watch it first. Overall, it was well done, clean audio, white balance, focus, etc. Except for a few segments of b-roll that was way overexposed.

"I can't give you an A if you turn that in with overexposed footage," I said.

Student replies, "So you're gonna make me go reshoot it all?"

"Like I said, I can't give you a good grade if you leave those shots in there."

The Broadcasting Instructor walks up and asks, "Didn't you have the zebras turned on?"

Student replies, "I couldn't see the zebras...the screen was too bright."

...guess you had to be there.
