Toast Titanium to burn DVDs...

Does anybody use Toast Titanium instead of Compressor to make DVDs? I was in the Apple store today and they were telling me I should use Toast after I was asking whether my Macbook Pro could burn Dual Layer DVDs. I have a project on my FCP time line that is 2 hours and 55 minutes! LOL! I either will have to split it in half or try to burn a DL Dvd. I don't know much about Toast and wanted a second opinion.

Thanks.

Toast does a very good job at compression in my experience. I always use Toast unless I want an interactive menu, as well. Toast works well when you're creating first play DVDs, but their menu options stink on a professional level.

Let me just say though that I have burned only a small few Dual-Layer DVDs using Toast and other disc burning software. They have been glitchy in my experience, because either you or your software has to find a spot to split the digital information between the two layers.

I've used Toast to burn disks after I've authored them using Compressor & DVDSP. Toast is great for this. If your video runs longer than 90 minutes or is being downconverted from an HD source, though, I'd really prefer to use the extra controls & features in Compressor.
