To menu or not to menu

I have produced a fund raising video for a non-profit and I was wondering if I should create a menu dvd for them or one that just starts up the content when you put it in the player? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both?

Thanks

Is there going to be any additional content for them to view, or will it just be the single film? If it's just the single film, I'm generally inclined to just have it start. Why bother going through a menu if you only have one choice? But if there are extras, then definitely provide a menu and a way to view them separately. For example, on a non-profit I did last year I put together a 10 minute documentary on them, and also did a 30-second 'commercial' cut from the same material. A menu was the obvious way to make them both easy to access.

But why not just ask your client? It's not too much effort to make a simple menu, so ask what they would prefer and give it to them.

Thanks, 4100... There is no add'l content, but my sense is that people sort of half-pay attention to these videos, so if it auto-starts I'm afraid they'll miss the beginning... On the other hand it may force them to start and watch it? I asked the client, but they had no preference and left it up to me.

thanks
