Today is Veterans Day in the US, and I want to give a heartfelt thank you for your service. We have a number of members here who are Vet's, so this is for you:
I can't take credit for the image (well done, I might add), but sent to me by one of my contacts in the industry.
In Flanders’ Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders’ Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders’ Fields.
I don't recall seeing Red Poppies in recent years...
I also can't believe I was explaining to a young woman... nay girl, in my ASL class what 'this holiday was about'... the other day...
