to ADR or not

I'm setting up a shoot that takes place in a tavern (about 700 square feet). I will have a women singing, she is an opera singer. I was planning on having a pro sound guy on the set for this. With not going too far into the scene, she will either be accapella, one violin, or full orchestra track playing. (haven't decided yet )

I have been thinking about ADR. Does it make more sense to ADR this? Maybe I should record it live and then ADR it later if the results aren't good? (Is that even possible or do you do something different if you plan to loop it?) I would really like to catch it live but I don't know if this is practical.

This is for Spyfest, so I am not looking to spend a lot on this. Just trying to understand the options. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

BTW is it only called ADR when talking about dialogue ir doea the term apply to singing to?

Record her vocals beforehand and have her lipsync to the playback on set. Mix her vocals to match the location to taste in post.

Cheers

makes sense, So I record her vocals in a sound room environment? I think she has recordings already of the song she is performing, I'll check those out too, I just don't want it to look fake.
