This tool F'ing rocks. I am not a fan of the 'wizard-style' authoring process. However, everything else is amazing for the 100$. If you are sick of spending hours trying to make your blu ray or DVD actually look nice, this tool is really nice and can be setup to do extra fast menu's (literally 2 minutes) or hours of customizations to your own menu's. All of which can be saved and re-imported for your next project (applied to new project).
The output with the available 'smart rendering' means the tool will not re-compress your files if you feed it proper mpeg-2 stream with blu-ray bitrate. I created a full 24-40mbps blu ray disc from my hacked gh13 camera and it is stunning. Honestly, to have killer audio (up to 384 kbps) and full blu ray quality bit rate coming from my theater from my 'home' movies is like nothing I have experienced. Talk about impressing the inlaws with home video, this will blow them away.
Some of the moire I had problems with from the GH1 went away with the crazy high bit-rate of blu ray (just my experience from what I saw in Sony Vegas Pro and what came out on my plasma)
This tool is an absolute must have for anyone wanting 'real' blu-ray and DVD fully customized menu's and a professional look without any 'glitches' or f*cking around. It fit right into the workflow and I couldn't be happier. My workflow is:
1. GH13 and H4n ->
2. (NLE) Sony Vegas Pro (for editing and exporting the video 'chapters')- >
3. TMPGenc Authoring Works (imports chapters and creates menu's and exports one simple blu ray file structure) - >
4. Image Burn (burns the file structure with all menu's included to blu-ray disc)->
5. Blu Ray disc done with all menu's working like a champ!
I am 100% satisfied and the tool has SOO many more options I am not using right now (Dolby 5.1 etc)
Not that I am doing it right now, but I am unsure if it will support a home-made 3d blu ray movie. That is cutting edge right now but you would need to do your own research there, since I don't have a 3d TV, nor do I want one right now.
