Titling in FCP?

My FCP sysytem is currently being built so I have no hands on experience yet but I have read extensively through the manuals and I am curious how everyone does titles / supers in FCP.

I am migrating to FCP (Studio 2) from Premiere where the Titler interface is rather good. Seems quite different in FCP so I assume there must be a different workflow involved.

The titler in Premiere is lightyears better than FCP's titler. It's probably the biggest thing I miss about PP. I've only ever used the FCP titler to do very basic white on black credits etc. Anything fancier and I'll use either Motion or LiveType... or make it in Photoshop and import into FCP.

The integration between Motion and FCP, though, is infinitely better than the Dynamic Link with PPro and After Effects. You can create templates in Motion that are editable directly within FCP. It's pretty sweet.

Just as I thought.

I am sure I will cope and workaround it somehow. I use a lot of title /supers in my work - TVC's

This kinda off topic but I've been doing a big search on it and haven't found any answers.

Say I use the title generator in FCP and want it to be longer than 2 minutes........... ? I can't find a single way to make the length of the clip longer than 2 minutes! It's different than importing a still so I'm guessing that's why the preference for still duration doesn't do anything.

As a heads up I'm using FCP6 and I ask this question because I'm slapping together a long amount of crawling credits using Boris Title Crawl plugin in FCP. I think 2 minutes is a bit of a limitation there.

I hope I'm just missing something big time and it's not something about Final Cut I'm going to have to live with (and the newest version too!!)

Thanks for any help guys!
