titles smudgy in premiere

[c.g._eads]

white titles, black background. premiere pro 1.5

titles look great on computer screen, but look smudgy and yucky once i transfer to dvd. what's up?

Can you define "smudgy" or post a screen capture?

[c.g._eads]

i can't post a screen capture cause the screen capture on my computer is perfect. It's the TV version that's the problem. The best way i can describe it is instead of it being pure black around the white letters, it's slightly gray and inconsistent, breaking up the clean lines of the letters. It's still readable. It just doesn't look nice. Could the 16x9 bars be the problem (smooshing it)?
