Titles in AE

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a title in AE that for example: if there was a clip of a man walking by a wall, the title would have the effect of being on the wall and being behind the man. Also, how do you create mask that aren't in the shape of rectangles or circles? is there a way to make mask that can trace the outline of objects?

Create your text/title and then make the layer 3d (there is a checkbox in layer settings) and adjust it to look like it's on the wall.
You'll have to duplicate your video layer, put titles between the two and draw a mask around the man in the top layer. Use the pen tool to make it any shape you want.
btw you could find it all in built-in AE help ;)
