Title???

Hello everyone,

I am about half way through shooting my first feature film. It has been a long, tough extremely rewarding experience. The only problem I have is that at the moment I am titleless. I would like to get a title developed, so that I can start my marketing blitz. It was originally titles "Blanco" (that is only because I had a dream that my movie was titled Blanco), but my film has nothing to do with anything Hispanic (Blanco is Spainish for white). It does however have to do with white suburban kids and a certain white powdery substance. Any suggestions, tips, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

don't start marketing it until it's done. either way, a title will come when it's ready. i changed the title for my trilogy on the 2nd movie, and i changed the title for one of my features when i finished the first draft, so it can change at any time.

When I am searching for a title I often look back through my script.

It's amazing how often I find a good title buried in the dialogue or even in the scene descriptions.

Zak,

Wow, what a great title. I will def. have to take that in to consideration. I was playing with: Bullets and Bandanas, The Cokeboys & Cowboys and Cocaine (but this is a little to much like the doc. entitles Cocaine Cowboys, a title that would be perfect). Also I disagree that you should wait until a film is finished to start marketing. A producer should always be building buzz around a project (although maybe not start traditional marketing until production is finished). Anyways, thanks a lot Zak, I will bounce that idea around with my staff.

A producer can market an idea, but IMO a good screenwriter would never put their screenplay out there until it's ready. You're wearing the wrong hat for that approach.

He's half way through SHOOTING his feature. He NEEDS to be marketing it NOW. He should have started the buzz and marketing campaign before the start of principal photography.

I belive this is the right thread. The original question had nothing to do with marketing, it was a question about a title. If it is in the wrong thread, sorry.

What about "Snow Men"?

I like 'Snow Angels', but somehow don't get the idea that any of your main characters qualify as 'angels', either literally or figuratively.

why not just "White"? in english, but thats probably been done. or 'White on White' but that sounds like some porn movie.

Looks like Mr. Wrong is Wrong.

Snow Men sounds good. How about "The Line".

EDIT: Maybe "White Lines". Then deciet comes into the title along with the drug angle.

I just wanted to thank evryone for their great suggestions. I understand no one has read the script and therefore it is impossible to effectively title it, yet I have heard some really good suggestions. Thanks All!
