Title transitions?

Does anyone know how to make your titles fade or just transition period in 6.5? I've tried adding a cross dissolve but the title never fades in and out.

I haven't worked with 6.5 for a while but it you put a transition in then it should work. Are you putting it in the transition bar? Also is it rendered? It will not play out unless it is rendered or if you hold the shift, Ctrl, or alt key I can't remember which one but the arrow for your scrubb will change and then you click and scrub to preview it.

Its rendered and I'm doing single track editing. I've tried a couple things and it won't fade or use the transition.

Bung your title into Video 2 or higher - open up the opacity band (the one with the red line - the button is next to the keyframe button) and lower/rase the opactity has needed - using this method, you can make your title transparent, or fade it out/in over a period of time to suit you.

Best of all, it's easy!
