TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

Can anyone explain this to me? I put together a title crawl using FCP's title crawl in the effects tab. For some reason, I'm getting pops and flashes of different sections of my credit blog in places where I shouldn't be seeing them. I've re-rendered several times, but still no luck.

Anyone else have similar problems? If so, got a suggestion on how to fix this? It's quite frustrating.

Re: TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

A real easy way to do credits and to make them look really nice is just make your credits list in Photoshop, putting all on one page, and then shoot it through aftereffects, or you can even prob just put it in final cut, and key motion.

Re: TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

Unfortunately, I don't have aftereffects :(
But a last resort could be to do the photoshop route. Just very annoying that a simple thing like a title crawl should give me so many problems natively in the program.

Re: TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

Check in the 2-pop.com FCP forums. There's supposed to be a 3D plugin included that does better titles.

I use LiveType that came with FCP but haven't been doing scrolling titles.

Re: TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

what did you do for credits using livetype? I was going to try that too, but it seemed too simple a task for livetype. Unless you found something cooler? Let me know :)

Re: TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

LiveType Go to Effects tab of media browser. Select scrolls and Crawls from popup menu. Select the scroll you want. Read text in lower part of window and search help file for Scroll.

what font are you using? that's usually the problem when i do titles.

Re: TITLE CRAWL PROBLEMS

No, it's not a pixeling text problem. It was a ghosting flash thing. Like a section of the middle of the scrolling text suddenly appeared for two frames dead center at the very beginning or very end of the scroll.

Anyway, I got around it by placing a photoshop frame of black over the offending sections. Lucky for me it happened just at the beginning and just at the end of the overall clip. Still annoying though.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with suggestions. Much appreciated.
