ok, completely new to camcorders...we're expecting our first child and would like to get a camcorder...but where to begin....any suggestions on where to begin - brand, types of storage (SD, HDD, etc)? would appreciate any help...

ps - hope this is the right forum...
 
How much do you expect to spend and what type of aspirations do you have about filming your kid?

welcome to DVXUSER. You might have better luck posting this in the cafe. Its our general discussion thread. This thread is typically reserved for press releases and industry news.

If you are only wanting home movies this forum might be a bit heavy. This site primarily deals with Film making. although there are plenty of discussions on consumer cams, many of them have feature like 24p, full manual controls, audio inputs etc. that cost more and might only complicate a point and shoot family cam.

If you are looking to go beyond just pushing the red button you are in the right place. repost in the cafe and you might get some more return.
We just passed 2 million posts so there is plenty of great info here.

Don't forget discussions on if the AF100 will have a cup holder, those totally belong in the "News" section too.

Like the thread where my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw a photo of the AF100 with an iPod dock. I guess it's pretty serious.
