Tips of lighting a dark fight scene on a budget?

I've only got two lenses right now (T2i Kit Lens + 50mm Prime), and I've run into a bit of a problem planning a scene in my next film. Lighting won't be too much of a problem, because in the script a vehicle's headlights are aimed directly at the two men fighting (I realize it'll take more than just that to make it look appealing), but when I don't want there to be any depth of field, I'd have to use the Kit Lens, unfortunately it's pretty poor in low light situations.

My main question is, is there anyway I can have no depth of field and a clean picture without having to crank the ISO up too high?

Uh... usually when one opens up the lens wide open, one gets 'no depth of field'... and more light to the sensor... Please list the base apertures of your lenses...

But if you are worried about blank black backgrounds relative to the fight in the head lights... try seeing if 'dusk' shooting time would work for you. It may only allow for a 30 minute (or less) shoot, but there may be enough light to 'light' the background, but still allow the head lights to cut out the characters.
