Tips for starting an Ad Agency

I just quit my job and started up a production company. I will be shooting commercials as an ad agency for a lot of our funding. Does anyone have any tips for finding clients in this business?
 
Yes I've read this, and applied a lot of it. I come from a slight advantage having worked in the news. I met a lot of people whom a lot of have become clients. We are just currently looking for ways to expand and attract clients that tend to go outside our area. Also I have enough funding to keep me going for quite a while, so I'm safe in this respect as well! Thanks though! ALL tips are helpful!
 
sounds like yu just need to advertise, man. Most cant do this as a start up but if you are funded, fund some new clientele, man. Your reel is your greatest sales tool and getting in front of new faces is your biggest handicap so get that reel in front of those faces.
The secret to getting big advertising bids os to out bid them. I do not mean low ball them. I literally mean add some to their bid so you are the highest. You do not need more equipment or better quality for this. You simply have to be bold and not flinch as you quote the biggest bid int he pile. Yours will be chosen time and time again IN ORDER TO SPEND THIS VERY MONEY. Call neimen marcus sendrome or call it utilizing all of the annual budget so approval for the same next year can happen but less is less int he ad game. People really do want to spend more than less with this.
