Tips/ Examples of Good Business Cards?

I'm putting together a business card and was wondering if anybody had tips. I googled it, but I am looking specifically on tips on production/videography business cards. Is flashiness a problem? Any help is appreciated.

I like simple cards. name, what you do, and contact info.

I also prefer having white cards with one side. That way, I can write notes on it if I need to.

I would recommend something professional. Dont just go to kinkos to have it printed. Your buisness card will be your first impression on your client. So you want your first impression to show you know what your doing.

Have a cheap set and a nice set printed. Use the cheap set for things like providing contact info at trade shows and the nice set for potential clients. Don't do anything weird like making it oversized, wood, plastic etc. that makes it inconvenient for the recipient to keep, access, or read. Make it legible, e.g. no cursive, Olde English, cartoon, or Klingon type, and no light ink on white. Pay a professional graphic designer to do your card layout. Don't put your phone number in the lower right hand corner of the card since that's where people often hold a card when reading it.

Having a background in printing, I really like the feel of a heavy stock card. There is a solid, durable feel that flimsy cards cannot portray. I like a clean design that conveys creative and simple. If you decide to get a coating on the front of the card, do not coat the back. You may need that space to hand write quick information. Get them done professionally and then hand them out like candy, 2 at a time.

I really love these business cards designs but have yet to use them.

well i'm just getting my first business cards printed now.. so dont have a lot of experience. BUT, i think it's important to think about who your target clients are, and what image you want your business card to convey.

i'm trying to appeal to rock bands that want low budget music videos, so i focused on making mine look cool. heh.

but if i was trying to get wedding gigs, i'd want something slick and pro looking. simple and nice.

hope that helps.
