Timline settings for ripped DVD

Hello. I'm working on a project that involves alot of media ripped of DVD's. What settings should I make my timeline (or whatever else) so that I don't have to render every clip I drop into the timeline?

I'm using streamclip to rip, and I am converting all the mpegs into quicktime clips. thanks!

Depends what you used to create the MOV

When you convert the MPEGs to MOVs, what compressor are you using? That will determine what sequence settings you need to use. So basically, its actually up to you. You can select the compressor used during the creation of the MOVs and then just make sure that you use the exact same choice for your sequence settings and voila there you go.
