Timeline render issue!

Hey everyone I'm a new user of the DVX100B and have a bit of experience with Premiere and After Effects....Also I'd like to add that this site is nothing short of amazing....So here's the problem...:)

I am having trouble getting my composition to render in the timeline...I press the play button (Spacebar) and it begins to render showing the green line above the timeline...Once it gets to a certain point (5 seconds in) the green render preview line starts to get pulled away from the beginning of the comp...So it pretty much does a partial render...I don't know if this is some sort of comp setting issue or what....

Hope I made that clear enough....Anyway, any help would be appreciated!! I have a feeling I will be posting in here quite a bit...hah :)

Well, inside of after effects, in order to see real time previews they cached in the RAM, (ram previews). So based on your amount of system ram this will render until it is full, you can also set AE to use more in the prefs.

The way to check your projects is to set the work area (letter B and Letter N) and hit the "0" key and this will render the porting and playback in real time.

To render out a Movie File you want to add the comp to the render queue and set up the setting that way, this is not limited by system ram.

Check out the AE 101 Tutorial if you would like a little more insight,

Good Luck,

Yeah that makes sense...I just turned up my percentage of RAM usage up a bit...

Thanks for the input Andrew! I was just actually finishing up your new tutorial on the Ipod nano commercial...I've learned a ton from your tutorials....My light streaks "swirlies" turned out amazing...Thanks again!
