for best 24p to DVD footage you record 24pa, capture in vegas, then open a new project...
Now in this project you set it to:
Template - NTSC DV 24p (23.976)
Frame Rate - 23.976 (IVTC Film)
Field Order - None (Progressive)
Deinterlace method - None
Correct? Then if your rendering to do more editing its 2:3:3:2. 2:3 if your sending to DVD.
(just making sure its not the fault of my problem)
Well heres my problem, Ive fixed it but Im looking for an explanation as to why it did this:
Im in a project with above settings and i have two clips. When i render, regardless of 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 it doesnt actually render the proper frames after I play back the rendered clip. In the timeline the first clip is above the other and its got a mask removing part of it (the edge of a tree) and the tree is a transition element moving across the screen and revealing the next shot as it leaves the screen (moving right to left). The mask has no feather so it is very sharp and when i render I can see parts coming through the mask because the frame isnt matching up with what I was seeing in the playback from the timeline.
I fixed the problem by right clicking the first clip and choosing "Disable resample". What exactly did this do? Should I turn off "sampling" for all my clips?
