Timeline and rendered video not the same.

Hey all,

I just finished a short I've been working on. When I play the video in the timeline it looks great. Similarly, when I print to tape from the timeline it looks great as well. Unfortunately, When I try to make a video file (doesn't matter the file type) all my cuts change and the audio is not synced.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks much,

North

Are you sure it's not the client you are using to play the media? Try opening it up using a different program to see if it fixes the problem.

More info. What are you hardware and software specs, what codec are you working with in FCP and what codec are you exporting to?

I tested it out in Quicktime and VLC, same problem both times. It changes the cuts within the same filetype and different codec (I tried .mov with h.264, uncompressed, etc) as well as any other filetype and codec (avi, m4p,dv, etc).

It's really confusing, and I'm pretty computer literate so it shouldn't be this difficult.

I'm on a MBP with 2gb ram, running the most recent FCP update.
