Timelapse with nikon D80

I didn't know where to post that, but I'm about to buy a nikon D80 and I would like to know if anyone has tried to do a timelapse with it with DV Rack or Adobe OnLocation. I know the D200 has a built-in timelapse but I don't have enough money for that and I do not want to buy a Canon.

The D80 got ganked in terms of timelapse... I'd have that camera instead of my D200 if it had better options. I believe you'll have to look into the pclix to control it externally. The D80 does not have a 10-pin connector so the mc-36 is out... You could use nikon capture pro if you don't mind being tethered to a laptop.

my d200 work - www.youtube.com/milapse

so... with the nikon capture pro program, you can do timelapses if you have the camera connected to the laptop...? I have a D40x and want to do some lapsing.. any other program that will do the trick? thanx

hmmm.. not sure if the d40x is supported... check on that. Yes you have to tether it to a laptop. Does the d40x have a 10-pin connector?

hmm. not sure about that. thought that you used the standard usb-connector... is there any other similar program out there that does the trick? maybe free or shareware

I'm asking about the 10-pin because IF you have it you can use the mc-36...

camera control pro uses the usb that's correct. I don't know if the d40x is supported though.

I know of no other software...

Maybe the pclix is a solution but agian I have no idea if the d40x is supported.

If you really want a timelapse body look into the D2h or D200...
