any idea how long to get 1.5 hours of HVX-200 720/24p HD footage from FCP onto a DVD? The whole process, from timeline, to DVD

thanks!

From finished "final render" to DVD?

Should be fine within a workday, sorta depending on what machine you're doing the encoding on.

Basically: It takes much more time than you think

Sugestion: Send 1 minute through compressor to get an idea of your systems performance.
Do you have all your material ready to assemble the DVD (exept for the movie) You could maybe set someone to make the menues et al while you're finishing the movie.

Curious of your movie by now, though...

I can't speak to its speed or quality, but from the BitVice fans out there, that seems to give good results at speeds better than Compressor. So if time is of a major issue then you might want to get and try that. If you were simply asking to try and lay out a game plan, then I'd do what Gun suggested and do a test minute to gauge your system performance.

cheers.

thanks guys.. i will do a test.. then make sure to give myself enough time to do 2.. one incase i f-up the first one.. :-)

<<<UPDATE>>>
It took 9 hours to run our 90 min rough cut of our film through compressor..
About 30 min to burn the DVD..
It looks GREAT! NEEDS A LOT OF WORK! But looks great!

Thanks for all the help guys!!!
