timecode setting for two camera shoot

What's the best strategy for setting timecode on two DVXs shooting the same event? I'm thinking free run makes the most sense? Is there some way to jam sync the two cameras so they run identical timecode?

Also, in terms of color balance, is the best way to get a close match simply to take a white balance off the same card under the same lighting? Or is it more advisable to use a preset white balance so that the whole sequence can be color-adjusted with a single adjustment?

Thanks,
Dan

This has been discussed a couple of times here, just in the last few days. Don't remember the exact posts. Search for Free Run in the last couple of days and you'll find it.

Don't use the preset white balance on DVX and DVX100A's, they don't match well between the two cameras. Manual white balance is safer and more accurate.
