hi, I´ll Be In A Movie And We Have A Deneke Slate, We Want To Use Timecode But We Really Don´t Know How Is The Workflow, Who Is The Master? This Is Useful For Finalcut Editors? Or For Pro Tools?

The Movie Going To Be With Arri Film Cameras With Timecode
And The Gear We Maybe Are Going To Use Is

Macbook Pro With Boom Recorder Sofware
Tascam P2 Flascard For Backup
Deneke Tinecode Slate
416, 418, Mkh50, Lectrosonics, Tram50 And Countryman Lavs Etc.

Any Coments About Timecode?

Sorry About My English I´m From Mexico

Barbado,

Look in the stickie about Lessons Learned - I have documented my setup that is very similar to what you are describing. But, if you really don't know the answer to your questions, then what you really need to do is hire a sound mixer that does know.

Figure out your complete workflow from beginning to end, talk to post (do they even accept audio files for telecine), and hire a pro. That is decent equipment you are using but unless you have someone who knows how to use it, it will be wasted, your production days will grind to halt, and you will probably have to ADR most of it anyways. Additionally with film production you are going to want meticulous sound reports.

Trying to remember Oleg's quote, "I can't teach you how to swim by mail" Something like that.

Cheers

Thanks For The Coments, But I Just Wanted Some Advice, I Already Have Used Timecode With Digital Cameras, But Never With Filmcameras Thats Why I´m Asking,
Yuo Can´t Come Here Telling Me That I´m Not A Pro, I Have 5 Years Working In This, And You Don´t Know Me, Don´t Know How I Work,
I Have Talked With Some Friends In Mexico City And They Told Me That Nobody Is Using Time Code In Mexico, In Films, But The Next Step For Me Is To Talk With The Film Editor And Ask If He Really Know How To Use This, I´m Just Waithing The Producction To Tell Me Who Is Going To Be...

Sorry If I Bother You People With My No Pro Questions, Maybe You Think That In Mexico We Don´t Know But It´s No True,

Thanks For Took The Time For Post Me, But Remermer That The Most Important Is The Results....

if the arri could acspt tc , you jam tit with your slate at 24 fps ( every couple of hours or each time magazin oor battery change )
the tc slate is your master , put it in free run after you jam the camera you take he tc out to your computer and from computer to p-2
you will be better to bring aditional tc generator and disconnect the slate
if you treat the camera s non tc device you just show the late on each take , pulling cable to the mac for tc .
check with telecine if they can read tc from film , if not just treat as it non tc camera .
