Ok so here's an issue I have been dealing with for a while now that I hope someone can help me with. I purchased my first Intel Mac about 5 months ago, it's a 24" Imac 2.16ghz Core2Duo with 2 gigs of Ram, I also got Final Cut Studio 2 and I'm currently running FCP 6.0.1. I use a Sony DSR30 Dvcam Deck to capture and lay off. Ever since the first day I used the Intel Mac I've had an error show up when I try to do a batch capture. The error message says " You are attempting to capture Non Drop Frame Media from a device detecting Drop Frame time code. If you continue you in and out points might change" < (something pretty close to that I'm laying in bed right now so I don't have the exact wording). Anyhow when I choose continue after capturing the first clip I always get a message stating that FCP detected a change in timecode during capture, but it does capture the clip. Usually the remainder of the clips capture but occasionally FCP splits the clip into 2 separate clips and adds a 1 and 2 on the end of the clip and that never works out right.
I checked my DVX and I'm shooting Non Drop Frame time code (usually F6 24p Advanced, occasionally F5 used) and I have the deck set for Non Drop Frame timecode in the menu settings. I've tried to find the settings in final cut pro to choose timecode settings and I can't. I was able to find that setting back in my FCP 2 days a few years back but now I'm stuck. Also on a side note I still have my 1.67 GHZ Powerbook G4 17" with 2 gigs of Ram and it has no trouble capturing the same files also running FCP 6.0.1. Any help on this will be a major help for me because this is a headache sometimes I have serious trouble capturing. Hopefully I have provided enough details for someone to help me, thanks in advance.:badputer:
