Timecode Print

I know how to select timecode print or Window Burn to use in my sequence, but I would like to know how I can add a on going timecode print the entire duration of the project similiar to adding a watermark. I tried to do a timecode print but it just does a print for that particular clip then it jumps to whatever the next clip's timecode is. I would like it to start at 00:00:00:00 and run ongoing without jumping to the next timecode. Is there a way to do this and then superimpose it over the video the same way you would a watermark?

Re: Timecode Print

greetings,
in order to get continuous timecode, first nest the entire sequence, THEN apply the timecode burn effect, render and boom - there you have it. not sure what you mean by doing it as a 'watermark' but i think that the 'window' version is the only one available. i could be wrong on that one, tho - hopefully the nesting hint will help you a bit, tho. good luck!

Re: Timecode Print

okay thanks for the nesting tip! What I meant by similiar to a watermark is to have the ongoing timecode displayed somewhere on the screen. I am just thinking of different ways I can protect my work once I start sending demos out.

Re: Timecode Print

yeah - i gotcha. haven't done it, but i know it can be done - hopefully someone will step in here.....

Re: Timecode Print

If you are looking to protect your work when sending it out to prospective distributors/festivals etc., why not just use text. Type up your company name, date, mailing address whatever, some sort of copyright, then simply place it in one of the corners of the screen.

Have a sequence that has all of your scenes together that make up your movie(master, full movie). Create a new sequence called "copyright print"(you can call it whatever you want). Open "copyright" sequence. Pull your master sequence into this timeline. It will be one long clip(entire movie). Create a text. Put text onto timeline above copyright clip. You may want to move text around. Enable image and wireframe. Highlight text. Move text to spot you want. You can strectch the text clip to make it longer. The text clip may not be long enough to stretch across the length of the movie. Mearly copy and paste. Render(which may take a while, and many gigs-same as timecode print). You now have a copy of your movie with visible proof it is yours. Hope that works for you.

Re: Timecode Print

Thanks! I just used a wartermark of my company name and placed that in one of the corners like the networks do so that should be okay until I send my work off to be copyrighted.
