Timecode breaks in FCP...

I've been capturing a lot of footage lately from my 1-chip to my FCP system, and while capturing, it frequently has to locate timecode breaks. Is this common with FCP or is it likely my 1-chip camera that I've been using as a deck for 2 years now?

I didn't shoot this footage so I don't know what the original camera was.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hey Drew,
Another possibility is that something changed in your setup from the last time you successfully captured footage without any time-code breaks.

Are you daisy chaining the cam through any drives?

Is there a hub involved?

Has your cat been chewing on the FW cable?

Are you using your FCP capture computer for other hardcore tasks while capturing?

Nope, no daisy-chains. The funny thing is that the timecode breaks seem to happen when there is a scene change, so FCP ends up breaking the clips up into scenes and it actually works ok. Maybe that's just coincidence, though.
