Has anyone seen this show? I've been seeing commercials for it and wanted to check it out.

It's on right now, and I'm watching it for the first time.

pretty cool. Just watched a guy breaking concrete at 5,000 frames per second...

Never heard of it. What channel is it on?

(I realize I could just as easily have looked it up...honestly, I don't know why I didn't...or why I am not going to...:))

Thanks for the heads up. I just tuned in; don't worry, I won't tell Penguin what channel its on. :)

As I tuned in, they were pulverizing things in a blender - digital camera, gumballs, butane lighters. Pretty cool. :thumbsup:
 
It was odd how they ask a handheld camera operator if he was ready before they did the lighters in the blender and they cut to him looking nervous as he replies, "yes". Then, the slow motion shot they show was clearly a tripod shot. Then again, maybe it was the extreme slow motion that made the shot appear locked down. :huh:
 
yeah. I would imagine for dramatic effect. Some of the shots I've seen were at least panning shots (possibly handheld)... Looks like they've got several cameras shooting different frame rates.

Love it!!!

Did you catch the half season of it 6 months ago on Disco?

Never seen before footage is where it is at, nature "Planet Earth" stuff or balloons popping at 1000 fps, just show us stuff we haven't ever seen... FOX sports also has a show called "Sports Science" that was shot on the same Phantom camera that I find just as interesting.

It's GOOD STUFF!!!
 
Unfortunately, i haven't seen this show...

but when i first saw this thread, all i could think was:

LEts Do the Timewarp Again!
 
Love this show. Very simple, yet executed with a spirit of fun and science. Did you see the one where they Taser a guy in slow motion? Amazing.
