time remapping in FCP4

Hey,

just finished shooting a project that featured heavily, aerial footage from a helicopter which i wanted to liven up a little with the time remapping tool, after getting to grips with the twiddly little tool and getting the speeds right, the image previewed perfectly well in fcp, but when i exported out to mpeg-4 quicktime it goes to hell, the image jumps and flashes irratically.

Can anyone tell me why? are my settings wrong or can it just not handle these effects in 25 p mode?

Whats the best settings and compression out for 25p?

pleasee help? thanks

MPEG-4 has some issues with time remapping. Try exporting to DV Self-Contained QuickTime first then convert that to MPEG-4.

hey Noah, thanks i will do that directly.

well i'm at it, i just heard that i've got to put subtitles in georgian over parts of the film......!

this really should be a new thread but hey i migh get lucky.... anyone know the processes that one might go through to do georgian subtitles.

is it just a case of getting hold of decent georgian typeface, then dropping it into photoshop templates with no background and dropping in to place? any ideas, any problems here?

whats the best font formats to work with bitmaps? post scripts?

thanks again noah

see you around
